Company Overview
NOVA Canine Academy is a results-based dog training brand led by Ethan Steinberg. Through educational and entertaining content, we help dog owners better understand, train, and communicate with their dogs.
More than 1 million dog owners follow Ethan across our social media platforms. We film a large amount of original content—including daily client footage, dedicated social media videos, scripted videos, and private dog-training lessons—but only a fraction of that footage is currently being repurposed.
We are expanding our editing team so we can turn more of this footage into valuable content for our clients and audience.
Position Summary
NOVA Canine Academy is hiring multiple remote video editors to support our growing content operation.
Depending on your strengths and experience, you may be assigned to one or more types of content:
- Preparing daily client footage and uploading it to YouTube as an unlisted video
- Finding strong moments in client footage and turning them into public short-form or long-form content
- Editing dedicated short-form videos filmed specifically for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms
- Turning recorded private dog-training lessons into educational short-form and long-form videos
- Repurposing existing footage across multiple platforms and formats
This is an editing position, not a filming position. We provide the raw footage and creative direction. Your responsibility is to organize, edit, export, and deliver polished videos efficiently and consistently.
The ideal candidate is creative, dependable, organized, and able to recognize moments that will educate, entertain, or hold a viewer’s attention.
Key Responsibilities

- Reformat existing horizontal or client footage for vertical platforms
Long-Form Content
- Turn client sessions, private lessons, and other raw footage into engaging YouTube videos
- Remove unnecessary pauses, repetition, and unusable footage
- Build clear stories or educational sequences from longer recordings
- Add supporting footage, text, graphics, audio, or other elements when needed
- Export videos according to the required platform specifications
Workflow and Collaboration
- Communicate clearly with our current editor and the rest of the NOVA Canine Academy team
- Manage multiple projects and meet agreed-upon deadlines
- Respond professionally to feedback and complete revisions
- Keep project files, source footage, and final exports organized

- Ability to identify engaging moments within longer pieces of raw footage
- Ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and file organization
- Clear written communication skills
- Familiarity with YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other major content platforms
