Board & Train FAQ's
How far in advance do you usually book out?
We typically book 3 to 6 months in advance. However, we occasionally have last-minute openings—so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have specific dates in mind.
What are the program options and pricing?
We offer two immersive Board & Train options:
4 Week Board & train: $8,500
6 Week Board & train: $12,000
Both options include daily training, structure, enrichment, and real-world exposure in a family environment.
How does payment work?
You have two options:
- Pay a 20% deposit when booking, with the remaining balance due a few weeks before training starts.
- Finance the entire amount through Affirm. Affirm typically offers 6- or 12-month plans at 0% APR. Your first payment is made upon booking, and monthly payments begin the following month.
Where does my dog stay during training?
Your dog lives in Ethan’s home in Alexandria, VA—not a kennel or training facility. We believe dogs should be trained in the type of environment they’ll return to: a family home.
Who trains my dog?
Ethan personally trains every dog, every day. This is his full-time job and his passion—your dog gets undivided attention and expert-level care.
Who lives in the home where my dog will stay?
Ethan lives in the home, along with our Brand Manager. There are typically two people present at any given time, ensuring constant care and supervision.
How many dogs are in training at once?
We limit training to 2–3 dogs at a time, ensuring individualized attention and high-quality results. Ethan also owns two friendly dogs who help with socialization and training. Ethan is only able to train about 30-35 dogs per year.
How long does my dog stay with you?
We offer 4 and 6 week board & train options. Each is an immersive, lifestyle-based training experience.
How often will I hear from you during training?
You’ll receive 45–90 minutes of personalized video updates each week. These videos are addressed to you and your family and cover your dog’s mindset, progress, handling tips, and real-life application.
What happens at the end of training?
On the final day, we’ll have a 2–5 hour hands-on session where Ethan walks you through everything your dog has learned. You’ll leave confident and prepared to continue the progress at home.

Will my dog miss me?
Absolutely—but they’ll also be having the time of their life. Each day is filled with training, play, adventures, structure, and love. Most dogs enjoy the experience more than their typical routine at home.
Do you pick up or do I drop off my dog?
Local clients (D.C. area): Ethan will pick up your dog at the start of training and drop them off when it’s done.
Out-of-town clients: You’ll drop off and pick up your dog at the start and end of training.
